Slonaker’s Custom Paving is a locally owned and operated paving contractor based in Kearneysville, West Virginia. For more than two decades, we’ve built driveways, parking lots, and roadways for homeowners, businesses, and property managers across the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, northern Virginia, and southern Maryland.
We started in 2002 with a simple idea: do paving the way it should be done, and let the work speak for itself. Twenty-plus years later, that’s still how we operate. Most of our jobs come from people who saw what we did for a neighbor, a friend, or the business down the road — and that’s the part of this work we’re proudest of.

Asphalt is unforgiving. The grade has to be right. The base has to be compacted. The mix has to go down at the right temperature, at the right thickness, and get rolled before it cools. Cut a corner anywhere in that sequence and the driveway you just paid for will start telling on you in two or three winters.
We don’t cut corners. Our crew takes pride in the surface they leave behind, and we’d rather take an extra day on site than hand off a job we wouldn’t want in front of our own house.
Our paving team brings roughly 60 years of combined hands-on experience to every project. That experience shows up in the small decisions homeowners don’t see — how we handle a transition where the new asphalt meets your garage, how we read the water flow on a sloped lot, whether a particular site needs a culvert or just a better swale.
It also shows up day-of. We arrive when we said we would. We work efficiently and clean up after ourselves. And when you call, we answer the phone.
We handle the full range of asphalt work:
- Driveway paving and resurfacing — new installs, overlays, and complete tear-outs for homes across the region.
- Parking lots — new construction, mill-and-pave, and repairs for commercial properties, HOAs, churches, and multifamily.
- Asphalt repair — patching, crack sealing, and pothole work to extend the life of pavement that isn’t ready for replacement yet.
- Seal coating — protective coatings that slow oxidation, water intrusion, and UV damage.
- Grading, gravel, and drainage work — including culvert installation and drainage ditches when a job calls for it. A great driveway over a bad drainage problem won’t last, so we fix the underlying issue first.
